Fieldbench exists because the data center construction and operations work happening across Michigan right now needs a specialist, not a generalist.
Fieldbench Technical Services is a new field-services division of Reed Dynamic, founded by Drew Reed and based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
We started Fieldbench after looking closely at what's happening in Michigan's data center market: a wave of large-scale construction — including a multibillion-dollar campus under development in Saline Township, roughly ten miles from our Ann Arbor base — alongside an established base of colocation operators, data center tenants, and technology vendors who need consistent local support. What we found is that the hands-on technical work this market generates — remote hands, documentation, rack and stack, construction-site networking, technology punch-list support — doesn't cleanly belong to any single existing vendor. General contractors aren't staffed for it. Cabling contractors don't market it. National remote-hands networks don't have a dedicated local presence here. That gap is what Fieldbench is built to fill.
We're a new company in this specific market, and we'd rather say that plainly than dress it up. What we bring isn't a portfolio of past data center clients — it's a real, existing technical background, and a level of documentation and follow-through we hold ourselves to on every visit.
