Data Center Smart Hands
Technical, certified hands for the work basic remote hands can't cover.
Smart hands is technical, skilled on-site labor — cable termination and testing, hardware installation and configuration, structured troubleshooting, and equipment swaps — performed by a technician who understands networking and infrastructure, not just someone following a checklist.
When you need this
- You need a network device configured or swapped on site, not just power-cycled.
- A cabling issue needs to be diagnosed and fixed, not just visually confirmed.
- A vendor deployment requires a technician who can troubleshoot, not just observe.
- You need Cat6/Cat6A or fiber terminated and certified on site.

How it works
- 01
Scope the technical task
We confirm exactly what's needed — device models, access, credentials, and the specific outcome you're after.
- 02
Technician preparation
We review your runbook or instructions ahead of the visit so the technician arrives ready, not learning on site.
- 03
On-site execution
Work is performed live, with real-time communication back to your team if issues come up mid-visit.
- 04
Testing & documentation
Cable test results, configuration confirmations, and photo documentation are delivered with the visit summary.
Frequently asked questions
What certifications or background does your team have?
Fieldbench is built on a background in structured Cat6 cabling, network switches and firewalls, Ubiquiti/UniFi deployment, server administration, and IT troubleshooting. We're upfront about scope — if a job requires a licensed electrician or a manufacturer-specific certification we don't hold, we'll tell you before we take the work, not after.
Can you follow our internal runbook or SOP?
Yes — send your runbook or standard operating procedure ahead of time and we'll confirm scope and any questions before dispatch, so the visit follows your process exactly.
Do you carry your own tools and test equipment?
Yes. Cable certifiers, basic hand tools, label printers, and standard networking gear travel with every smart hands visit. If a job needs specialized equipment you'd rather we use yours for, let us know when scoping the visit.

Data Center Remote Hands
Remote hands puts a Fieldbench technician physically inside your cage, suite, or facility to handle the tasks that don't need a full engineering visit but absolutely need a body on site — power cycles, visual checks, port verification, and escalation to our smart hands team when the job needs more than eyes and hands.

From a single server swap to a full cabinet build-out, we physically install, cable, label, and power up your equipment on site — and document it as we go, so the install and the documentation happen in one visit instead of two.
Learn more →Copper & Fiber Data Cabling
From a single Cat6A run to a full fiber backbone between rows or buildings, we install, terminate, test, and label copper and fiber cabling to a standard that holds up under a certifier, not just a visual check.
