Data Center Remote Hands
A local technician on site within hours, not on a flight tomorrow.
Remote hands puts a Fieldbench technician physically inside your cage, suite, or facility to handle the tasks that don't need a full engineering visit but absolutely need a body on site — power cycles, visual checks, port verification, and escalation to our smart hands team when the job needs more than eyes and hands.
When you need this
- Your primary engineer is remote and something at the Michigan facility needs a physical check right now.
- A vendor support ticket requires an on-site pair of hands to power-cycle, reseat, or visually confirm status.
- You colocate equipment in a Michigan facility but don't have full-time local staff.
- You need coverage during a maintenance window outside normal business hours.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between remote hands and smart hands?
Remote hands covers straightforward physical tasks — power cycles, visual checks, basic cabling — that don't require specialized technical judgment. Smart hands covers work that requires more technical skill, like diagnosing a network issue, terminating and testing cabling, or configuring hardware. We offer both, and can escalate a remote-hands visit to smart-hands support mid-visit if the job turns out to need it.
How fast can you respond?
For scheduled work, we typically confirm a visit within 24 hours. For urgent/emergency requests, same-day dispatch is available across our primary Southeast Michigan service area (Ann Arbor, Detroit, Southfield, and surrounding communities); reach out directly to confirm timing for your specific location.
Do you require an existing account or contract?
No — one-time remote hands visits are available without a standing contract. If you expect recurring or SLA-backed support, we also offer retainer arrangements with faster guaranteed response windows.
Can you work with our existing NOC or engineering team?
Yes. Most remote hands engagements are directed live by your remote team over phone, video call, or messaging while our technician is on site — we act as your physical presence, following your instructions in real time.

Data Center Smart Hands
Smart hands is technical, skilled on-site labor — cable termination and testing, hardware installation and configuration, structured troubleshooting, and equipment swaps — performed by a technician who understands networking and infrastructure, not just someone following a checklist.
Learn more →Data Center Documentation
We send technicians on site to physically trace, photograph, and document your racks, cabling, and labeling — and hand you back clean rack elevation diagrams, cable schedules, and labeling that actually matches reality, not what a spreadsheet says should be there.
Learn more →Rack and Stack
From a single server swap to a full cabinet build-out, we physically install, cable, label, and power up your equipment on site — and document it as we go, so the install and the documentation happen in one visit instead of two.
